The Munchkins are an informal group of culinary enthusiasts who—without any formal training in the culinary arts, using local ingredients, and available spaces—periodically come together to provide dining experiences that curate familiar tastes of home and elsewhere.

For the 2026 Doek Literary Festival, in the midst of a foot and mouth outbreak affecting Namibia’s local meat market, The Munchkins will provide healthy, sustainable, and all-vegetarian lunch and dinner experiences for the international guests and festival staff.

The Munchkins are: Cara Mia Dunaiski (chef), Gabrielle Dunaiski (assistant chef), and Senorieta Tsamaries (cook).
