Le Roux van Schalkwyk describes himself as a fading hipster with dreams of doing something meaningful with his life. He spends his time photographing trash bins and strange objects he sees on the streets while walking his dog. Le Roux has lived in Windhoek most of his life, apart from a brief interlude to earn a degree in winemaking that he does not use. He has worked as a newspaper reporter, owned a bar, written for several travel magazines including the South African publication go!, created content for lodges and tourism, and is currently trying to finish writing a book on farmers in the deep south of Namibia. His eclectic vinyl collection is probably not for the connoisseur, but he likes it that way.
