As part of the 2026 Doek Literary Festival’s collaboration with Bank Windhoek to raise awareness for the Cancer Apple Project, festival attendants are invited to bite into a good story and find references to apples in any of the works produced by this year’s writers, poets, and visual artists.

Here is how it works:

1. Read as many of the festival guests’ works and find any reference to an apple.
2. Explain the reference as fully as possible.
3. Stand a chance to win a special mystery prize courtesy of Bank Windhoek and the Doek Literary Festival.
